Jarosław Kaczyński commented on the results of fresh polls in which the Civic Coalition precedes the Law and Justice. According to an IBRiS survey for Polsat News, PiS could number on 25.5% of respondents, while KO – 31%. The president of PiS indicated that the origin of the lower results of his organization was "a powerful hatred operation".

The reason is this powerful hatred operation. He said. – Unfortunately, these methods are effective. There's just the communicative advantage of the opponents.

Kaczyński stressed at the same time that it is not worth worrying besides much about the results of the polls. He recalled that at the turn of 2012 and 2013, the support for his organization was only 19%, while the Civic Platform enjoyed the support of 60% of respondents.

Unacceptable views

During Monday's press conference, PiS president Jarosław Kaczyński commented on the increasing popularity of Grzegorz Braun.

As for Grzegorz Braun, I can say so much: we want in our large campaign, which we are planning and which has already begun, to convince many supporters of the right side, Polish patriots – Kaczyński assessed.

The president of PiS besides stressed that it is not appropriate to support those who preach utmost and unacceptable views, specified as the negation of the Holocaust. In this way he referred to controversial statements by Grzegorz Braun about gas chambers. At the same time, he pointed out that his organization was willing to cooperate with those who differed on a number of issues, as long as they were active in a "reasonable policy".

Kaczyński besides stated that the current government is liable for the increase in support for Grzegorz Braun in the polls. According to him, any voters are besides curious in listening to radicals, which is due to the actions of Donald Tusk's squad in Poland.

What do the results tell us?

The latest survey commissioned by the HR shows changes in election preferences. If elections were held next Sunday, the Civic Coalition would have won 32.8% of the vote and the Law and Justice – 26.7%. The Confederation would lose 2.5 percent points, falling to 13.1%, while the Confederation of the Polish Crown Grzegorz Braun would gain 2 points, reaching 8.4%. The left could number on 7.1% of the vote.

Apart from the Sejm, there would be PSL (3.1%), organization Together (2.8%) and Poland 2050 (1%). The percent of indeterminate is 5%. In terms of mandates: KO could get 189 seats, PiS – 150, Confederation – 63, Confederation of the Polish Crown Braun – 33 and Left – 25. No group would have obtained the majority, and the current coalition could not have reproduced it either, as PSL and Poland 2050 would not have exceeded the electoral threshold.

Dr Anna Materska-Sosnowska of the University of Warsaw points out that the increase in support for the Confederation of the Polish Crown reflects emotions in society, moving them to the right. In her view, this support "is built on the lowest resensitisations", which may show increasing social frustration.
