Kaczyński Absence

The president of Law and Justice Jarosław Kaczyński did not appear before the parliamentary committee on the visa scandal. A PiS press spokesman, Rafał Bochenek, reported before 10 o'clock on the X platform that organization leader's participation in the committee's work was impossible.

Bochenek argued that Jarosław Kaczyński was on his way back from the farmers' protest in Brussels against Green Deal policy. Bochenek besides pointed out that the alleged “made” against Kaczyński would not have any effect. According to him, Kaczyński has nothing to hide, and the postponement of the proceeding is due to the law which is given to those called to the committee.

The president of the commission, Michał Szczerba, has already declared that in the absence of the president of the Law and Justice, the committee will consider making a request to the court to impose an order punishment of PLN 3,000. In his opinion, Kaczyński's absence is not justified.

The president of the Law and Justice Committee had previously requested the committee to postpone the proceeding deadline in time for the European Parliament elections. He announced that he would not be able to attend the gathering due to his stay abroad as part of his political commitments during the election campaign. However, Szczerba reported that Kaczyński's request was not taken into account.

Removing Plums from the committee

In the absence of Jarosław Kaczyński and possible absence of Daniel Obietek, Michał Szczerba proposed to change the plan for today's meeting. He requested the removal from the committee of Mr Andrzej Plumk (PiS).

The decision was made due to doubts about the impartiality of the parliamentarian who had previously worked at the Ministry of State Acts. The vote on exclusion was supported by 5 members of the committee, while 3 were opposed. The plum considered the decision to be ‘curiosal’, contesting that his work in the ministry could nevertheless affect the deficiency of impartiality. The politician explained that during his work as minister in the Ministry of State Acts he had no dealings with either Orlen or Azota.

Andrzej Plumka besides stated that he interprets the proposal for his exclusion as an component of political struggle. The MP addressed president Michael Szczerba, expressing his doubts that specified a decision was necessary.
