Day 887.
Today there are many updates from the direction of Kharkiv
The most interesting reports come from the Volchansk area.
Here the Russian beachhead in the south of the city yet fell, forcing them to reorganize and change their plans
The first Russian plan was to usage the base to attack the south-eastern part of the city to cut off Ukrainian forces in northern Volchansk.
If this plan had worked, it would have isolated the strongest Ukrainian fortifications in the Citadel, complicating the situation of Ukrainian soldiers.
Such a improvement would likely force the remaining Ukrainian forces in confederate Volchansk to retreat as Russian troops could establish fire control over the city from both Citadele and the aggregate plant.
Consequently, this would enable the Russians to stabilise the front in Volchansk, possibly allowing them to shift troops to the city flanks to thwart the Ukrainian lap plan.
To implement their plan, the Russians had to organize logistics for their base in the south
They control the main bridge in the city along Soborná Street, which, despite being partially demolished, serves as the only supply way supplying ammunition and critical supplies to the Russian base.
The full Russian wharf is about 500 metres wide, leaving small area to establish additional pontoon crossings, so any effort to cross the river is easy detected and thwarted by Ukrainian drones.
Due to drone surveillance and continuous attacks on the bridge, the Russians avoided utilizing motor vehicles to transport supplies to the confederate front, as they would likely be destroyed
Instead, they placed tiny groups of infantry carrying supplies on their backs on the south bank.
These tiny infantry troops attract little attention from drones, especially if they keep a greater distance between them, which makes it hard to burn them simultaneously.
The bridge connecting the confederate pier was heavy shelled by Ukrainian forces, making the movement of Russian troops with supplies highly difficult.
Although the Russians managed to hide their troops and keep the deadlock, they could not deploy additional reinforcements for planned attacks in the south.
Ukrainians have a numerical advantage over Russians in this area, forcing Russians to keep their positions, where they are frequently detected and attacked by Ukrainian forces.
Additionally, providing medical assistance and evacuation of injured or killed Russian soldiers is almost impossible due to the presence of Ukrainian kamikaze drones in the area.
This situation has gradually led to serious complications in which the inability to supply medical assistance to injured people and the removal of corpses has led to a tragic epidemiological situation.
Lack of medical care for wounded soldiers led to wound infection, which further worsened their condition and caused death that could have been prevented.
Furthermore, the corpses of dead Russian soldiers, which could not be buried or removed, worsened hygiene conditions in Russian front positions, expanding the hazard of spreading diseases.
Recorded by a Russian soldier close Citadels confirm deteriorating conditions with injured and killed around.
The Russian soldier here is talking about the terrible odor of the corpse reaching its position and how the flies around it annoy him.
Most of the position he was in, I can't show due to the fact that there were besides many dead bodies.

For this reason, the Russians could not increase the scale of their offensive, resulting in the collapse of their cape south of Volchansk.
After the Russians were expelled from confederate Volchansk, the Ukrainians stabilized this part of the front along the river and escalated their actions north of the river, aiming for the full displacement of the Russians from Volchansk.
Overall, the dense Russian losses that have strained their logistics and combat capabilities forced them to withdraw.
These events may give Ukrainians an chance to launch a decisive attack north of the city to displace Russians.
This situation would enable Ukrainians to keep the northern part of the city at Citadel, stopping Russian forces in this area and distant from Volchansk flank.
