The National Prosecutor's Office sent a request to the Warsaw court for a European Arrest Order for judaic Ivanov and Alexander Kononov suspected of diversion on the Polish railway.
Both men, who were previously sought by a BOLO and were subject to a temporary detention decision, fled to Belarus. The police have published their images and are calling for aid in tracing.
Investigators tie suspects to 2 acts of diversion on the railway: harm to tracks by explosive charges in the vicinity of Mika in Mazowsz and an incidental under Puławy, where elements of the traction network have been breached, which could have led to derailment of the train, disaster and death of many people. The charges related to the case were besides brought to a 3rd individual – Volodymyr B. was expected to drive 1 of the perpetrators to reconnaissance and helped prepare the diversion. He went to jail for 3 months.
