Saudi forces shot up the targets of the pro-Iran Huti rebels in the Yemeni state of Marib on Tuesday – reported Al Masirah, a related Shiite group.

Previously officials of the internationally recognized Yemeni government informed that their military had begun counterattacks against Huti rebels. Their goal is to reflect Sana's capital, at the hands of Shiite militants. Government forces reported that they carried out rocket attacks on Hutich's positions and reported “intense fighting” involving land troops.

The rebels, on the another hand, attacked confederate Saudi Arabia, targeting the facilities belonging to the Aramco oil giant. According to the authorities in Riyadh, the attacks caused “fires in respective places, which led to a temporary interruption of any operations”, AFP stressed.

It is unclear erstwhile the Huti attacks occurred. The Saudi MFA reported that they were injured in 4 regions but did not specify their number or erstwhile the attacks took place.

The nonsubjective of the resumed war effort is the strategical Strait of Bab al-Mandab. On Thursday, the rebels launched an operation to control the areas along this waterway connecting Asia with Europe through the Red Sea and the Suez Canal. The importance of Bab al-Mandab has increased especially since the March blockade of another strategical strait by Iran – Ormuz.

The attacks are a consequence of weeks of expanding tension between Huti and Yemen's government forces supported by Saudi troops. Both sides have been at war since 2014, erstwhile the Huti took Sana.
