The last Sunday of August The Vincentian indulgence of Blessed Vincent Kadłubek in the sanctuary in Jędrzejów, preceded by the prayer Triduum, has a unique character this year – as a spiritual preparation for the celebration of the announcement of the decree of Pope Leon XIV to rise the monastery church of the Cistercian Archiopatics to the rank of a smaller basilica.
The monastery church of the Cistercian Archiopatics in Jędrzejów by the decision of Pope Leon XIV was elevated to the dignity of the basilica of the smaller on 23 April, and the public announcement of this decision in the Cistercian parish was planned for 5 September, with the participation of the Abbots and the bishops of Kielce.
Fr. Archbishop Wacław Depo, the Metropolitan of Czestochowa, presided over Sunday ceremonies. The indulgent Suma was concelebrated by Cistercian abbots from Kraków-Mogiła and Wąchocka, a local abbot and diocesan priests. Rev. Archbishop Depo gave the homily, recalling the most crucial elements of Master Vincent's life and teaching, in mention to today's readings and Gospels and in the context of modern times.
