It was German Chancellor Friedrich Merz who had long persuaded US president Donald Trump to consider the position of European leaders and merged with them before gathering with Putin in Alaska. It was besides thanks to the determination of the German leader that Poland was included in a narrow group of countries which were represented in the course of the exchange with the president of the United States.
