Jastrzębie-Zdrój celebrated the Polish Army Festival in the South Jara on 15 August with shows, exhibitions, meetings with uniforms and a performance of the patriotic song “The Way towards Freedom”. For the locals, it was a lesson in memory of the 1920 triumph and a reminder that safety starts with respect for its own army.
South Jar under white and red
The South Jar in Jastrzębie-Zdrój became the site of the city's celebrations of the Polish Army on 15 August. As reported by the News, there were white and red colors, uniforms, presentations of equipment, shows, exhibitions and talks of residents with service representatives. So it was not just an outdoor concert, but a gathering with an institution without which the state remains a paper declaration.
The Jastrzębie-Zdrój City Hall announced the main part of the event in confederate Jara from 3 p.m., and the final was to be a performance of the patriotic song “The Road to Freedom” at 7 p.m. Marcin Zmorzyński, Tomasz Andrzejewski and Tomasz Pala performed on stage. The local celebration had a simple, good logic: first gathering with the army and history, then singing together.
Polish Army Festival is not a decoration
On 15 August we celebrate the Polish Army Day on the anniversary of the winning Warsaw Battle. It's a date you can't flatten for an attraction picnic. In 1920 Poland stopped the march of Bolshevikism to the West and saved its own independence. This fact is the foundation, not an addition to the program.
Therefore, specified events in cities like Jastrzębie-Zdrój are more crucial than the local calendar. They show children, families and seniors that the uniform is not a tv prop. Good celebrations of the Polish Army don't request political noise. They request the presence of soldiers, equipment, banners, songs and conversations. Residents have the right to see what the state has and to whom we entrust the safety of our families. Patriotism without knowing about its own army easy turns into an empty gesture.
This is why the proximity of the military and local community is simply a national issue in practice. Jastrzębski performance “The Road to Freedom” well closed the celebrations, due to the fact that the patriotic song organizes emotions better than the authoritative phrase. It reminds me that freedom is not a gift from history. If you can't sing about your own victory, you will sooner or later give a communicative to another people's narrators.
The Polish Army Festival in confederate Jara was so more than a household afternoon. It is simply a small, local form of the same lesson that Poland has been repeating for generations: sovereignty costs, army is necessary, and the memory of the 1920 triumph is inactive to be raised to responsibility.
