The territory Attorney's Office in Warsaw has applied for the waiver of the immunity of the erstwhile Prime Minister from the times of the writing on the case concerning the envelope elections. The committee of enquiry on correspondence elections examined the legality, regularity and intent of actions taken to prepare and conduct the 2020 election of the president of Poland in the form of a correspondence vote.
The Commission adopted a resolution to submit a announcement to the D.A. on Mateusz Morawiecki and Jarosław Kaczyński.
What did Jarosław Kaczyński write?
"The allegations made against Mateusz Morawiecki are absurd. The presidential elections are a request of the Constitution, which the rulings of present have been eager to invoke until recently. The correspondence election in pandemic conditions was carried out earlier in another countries, and the procedure of the correspondence vote itself already existed in Polish law," wrote Jarosław Kaczyński on portal X.
"The decision on the date of the elections, according to the Constitution, was made by the talker of the Sejm, and its implementation was the work of the full state administration — government and local government. The Prime Minister made this decision, with the essential determination in times of large epidemic. The Citizen Platform, which explicitly called for obstruction and non-constitutional responsibilities, is solely liable for the fact that the elections were yet not held," added the president of the Law and Justice Party.
