In Jarosław Kaczyński's opinion, the support of Rafał Trzaskowski in the 2nd circular of elections by Sławomir Mentzen would be a political mistake of the latter.
Sławomir Mentzen ranked 3rd in the 1st circular of the presidential election, gaining support of 14,81 percent of voters who took part in the vote. That's nearly 3 million votes. During his speech after announcing the results of exit poll Mentzen announced that he would aid his voters make a decision in the second round.
PiS president Jarosław Kaczyński estimated that if Sławomir Mentzen had supported the second circular of Rafał Trzaskowski, he would have denied the Confederate programme and misled voters. “I know 1 thing that if Mr. Trzaskowski supports it, it will mean that the full thought of the Confederation has nothing to do with what the Confederation says is simply misleading the public,” says Jarosław Kaczyński, quoted by PAP.
Meanwhile, Sławomir Mentzen invited Rafał Trzaskowski and Karol Nawrocki to talk on the YouTube channel, during which he intends to face them with topics crucial for his constituents. The voters – in the view of the Confederate candidate – are not “plants” that can be freely passed on.
