The January Uprising to this day has been the subject of interest and discussion by historians for decades trying to settle the dilemma of its outburst, its course and its consequences. The uprising went back to past as a synonym for the long-term partisan war waged by the underground state, later being a circumstantial model in Europe of alleged tiny war and widespread resistance. To any extent, Polish experiences from 1863 – 65 were utilized in the construction of the concept of full opposition of Major Hans von Dacha in Switzerland (1957), and their echoes can besides be found in the contemporary Operational Concept (ROC).
