Subsidy decision

On Thursday, the State Election Commission rejected the accounts of the PiS Committee from the 2023 parliamentary elections. The subsidy for the organization will so be reduced by PLN 10 million and the subsidy from the state budget will be full withdrawn. The PKW decision is described in item in available materials.

The next day on RMF FM radio, Paweł Jabłoński, erstwhile Deputy Minister of abroad Affairs and Law and Justice Policy commented. He criticised the decision of the PKW, recognizing it as an effort to destruct the democratic opposition in Poland, which he felt was contrary to the standards of democracy.

Mr PiS stated that the PKW decision introduced a fresh standard that will now be applied to all parties. He pointed to possible irregularities in the finances of another political groups and pointed out that self-government campaigns and the way in which local governments utilized the budgets of cities and voivodships would be analysed. He added that there were cases in Warsaw where Euro MPs could benefit from preferences from city offices, specified as advertising on buses.

Jabłoński besides announced that these issues would be carefully examined, in peculiar in the context of the run to the European Parliament and the actions of candidates for the civilian Coalition.

The United Right politician pointed out that the decision of the PKW had not yet had legal force and would be challenged to the Chamber of Extraordinary Control and Public Affairs of the ultimate Court. He expressed his conviction that the PKW decision was made with the intention of supporting Donald Tusk's political success, alternatively of applying the law. He added that if, after the ultimate Court has examined the case, there are appropriate grounds, the members of the PKW may bear financial responsibility.
