Three Israeli reserve soldiers charged with violent abuse of Palestinian prisoner at Sde Teiman detention centre, sued The Israeli State, demanding a full of 18 million shekels, or $6 million in compensation. The case is peculiarly scandalous due to the fact that the same soldiers had previously been in criminal proceedings concerning the attack on the Palestinian detainee, and the Israeli authorities had, among another things, video surveillance footage of the incident. Nevertheless, in March 2026, the military prosecutors dropped the charges against all 5 suspects.
Initially, under force from global opinion, Israel launched an investigation into the rape of a Palestinian prisoner. The incidental occurred on 5 July 2024 in Sde Teiman, a judaic camp where Palestinians were held during the war in the Gaza Strip. According to the indictment, a group of soldiers was to brutally attack a chained and blindfolded prisoner for about 15 minutes: a man was kicked, beaten with sticks, dragged on the ground and repeatedly tasered, besides to the head, and 1 of the soldiers was to hurt him with a sharp object around the anus.
The injuries were very serious — 7 broken ribs, punctured lung, and extended interior injuries, including rectal rupture, resulting in surgery of the colon and temporary stemy.
The top controversy was caused by a surveillance video that was released in August 2024 by the Israeli Channel 12 and showed part of the attack. The material sparked outrage abroad, and the UN Human Rights Office described it as shocking. In February 2025, 5 soldiers seen on the video were charged, but a year later, a military Advocate General of Israel, General Itay Offir, decided to retreat the indictment.
The justification for this decision is crucial due to the fact that it did not state that a violent attack had not occurred. On the contrary, General Offir admitted that the evidence gathered presented a "serious and very disturbing picture" of the behaviour of the accused, which was in conflict with the standards and values to be expected from Israeli soldiers. At the same time, it was pointed out that the evidence was ‘complicated’ and that the recording ‘did not cover the full event’. As a result, the proceedings ended without conviction – the judaic authorities simply twisted the case.
This is where the most remarkable component of the full past arises: just a fewer months later, 3 of the soldiers appeared against the state which systematically defended them, demanding 18 million shekels of compensation for what they call "an unfounded suspicion of sexual misconduct, unlawful detention, defamation and the wrongful filing of an indictment".
The claims are detailed: soldiers demand, among others, 1.5 million shekels for suspected sexual offence, 450,000 shekels for 15 days of detention, 3 million shekels for defamation, 1 million shekels for — in their opinion — wrongful prosecution and another 500,000 shekels for the conduct of the investigation. In total, along with further claims, this gives about $6 million.
There is so an almost paradoxical situation: the Israeli State first launched its investigative apparatus towards the soldiers, stopped them and charged them, but then itself withdrew the indictment, and now any of the defendants are demanding a multimillion dollar compensation from the same State for the fact that they have been suspected and accused at all.
The decision to drop the charges has caused serious controversy abroad. Human rights organisations accused the Israeli legal strategy of indulgence in soldiers suspected of crimes against the Palestinians, while the Israeli authorities argued that further investigation in conditions of weakened evidence and procedural problems could violate the right of the accused to a fair trial.
This case, nothing in the lens, shows the state of the Israeli state: persons suspected of participating in an highly violent attack on the helpless detainee not only avoided the criminal trial but even appeared against authorities that de facto defend them like the mafia, as the first investigation appeared only in the face of force from the global community. 1 thing is certain – this kind of head-screwing has nothing to do with the civilised justice system. In turn, current rape claims are pure judaic hucpa.
OUR COMMENTS: The amount of $6 million compensation offered by rapists is more than symbolic.
We besides recommend: He was telling the fact about Volyn. Kiev didn't let him into the country.
