With passions, I hatred the phrase “Murem za...” raised so frequently in fresh years. It reminds me of a simple political “kibolism” and taking 1 of the sides on our cabaret political scene.
However, the slogan as well as the hashtag "Murem za...)" have already grown into public space and are always of large interest. utilizing this fact and referring to the embarrassing scandal in which I feel a part – culture, I would like to encourage you to just become a MUREM FOR BREGOVIC, but besides behind Kayah!
All the confusion was triggered in connection with the announced jubilee tour of the 25th anniversary of the album ‘Kayah, Bregović’. any political, journalistic, but unfortunately besides artistic environments began calling for a boycott of the tour due to Goran Bregovic's PROROSS sympathies! “ Goran Bregović supported Russia, ” reports the newspaper.pl in Magda Walma’s tendent and mediocre article. He says what he thinks about the war on Ukraine. Serb speaks of the imperialist fascination of Russia, performed in Crimea shortly after Putin's occupation, and performed in Moscow moments before the start of the “special military operation” in Ukraine.
In my opinion, this "spontaneous opposition" is triggered by the establishment for a simple reason – fear of resuming a wave of sympathy towards Balkan music! individual might ask, "What's the problem?" Yes, it does! The political sympathy of the Serbs is indeed directed towards Russia, which is rather apparent from the geopolitics and past point of view. But in matters as seemingly simple as music, we are definitely closer to the Balkans than to the "Western sounds" which he tries so hard to instill as better, more "civilized". Just to be clear – I have nothing against Anglo-Saxon music, I sing myself in a band performing classical stone in English, but erstwhile it comes to folklore, folk and folk music, my heart always beats faster with the rhythms of native, east or Balkan and it is completely natural!
Over the years we have been told that folk music is simply a “row and shame”, it is not right to perceive to it! Radio broadcasts are 2 and 3 in creating “consumers” of contemporary popular music, which in all western country is to sound precisely the same – electronic bit, any melorecination distorted digitally alternatively of melody and words that cannot be understood. The consequence is, for example, the Eurovision competition, in which all performers sounded the same and performed a species that I called "ANGLO-POLO". Naturally, specified an offer finds recipients, due to the fact that according to what col has said for years. Mateusz Piskorski "debilization" continues, but it is culture – this delicate area inactive defends itself against this process? Why? due to the fact that in music, as something emotional, the fact comes to the surface.
In 1999, Kayah and Goran Bregović released a evidence that is simply a pure emanation of specified truth! And yes – it is simply a full-face music, in all shades of the same. Of course, the best-known track from the album is “Right to Left”, a song that many of my colleagues are joking about. I answer each 1 of them – PLAY IT! The gag ends here, due to the fact that you should be a truly good musician to execute this song in specified a way as the Bregovicia orchestra! The album is full of real music – both fun and “Right to the Left” and “Happy Birthday to the Young Couple”, but besides lyrical, like “Ta tabakirka” or throat-holding, filled with regret “I utilized to be a rose”. All this with beautiful lyrics sung absolutely brilliantly and bravado! Kayah with her voice poured into this music a real soul that can neither be forged nor faked. There is not a single vocalist among the current radio stars who could sing this repertoire. This is not just about singing these songs properly, but about singing them with all the emotional charge there!
Kayah and Bregović gave us a timeless and vivid evidence showing where we will find “the kinship of souls”? Balkan folklore and Polish lyrics! A wonderful and natural combination, which Poles loved so much! We did not request a modern propaganda device for this – at 1 point Poland went crazy about the Serbian-Croatian composer and the Polish version of his music performed bravado by Kayah! Their concerts were pure madness – fun, tears of emotion, dancing, singing and pure joy. The beautiful thing is that, unlike the primitive disco-polo, this music is simple but not simple – it carries large artistic value.
And here's the problem! In September, Kayah and Goran Bregović return live with 3 large concerts in Warsaw, Gliwice and Gdańsk (1,3.5 IX). I am certain that, despite the wave of hatred filmed on Bregovicia and Kayah, which has already been hailed as a “russ onuc” concerts will be sold out and people will have just as much fun as 25 years ago. And for spite of this stubborn Serb does not want to make pleasance to the managers of this country (with our real president Mark Brzeziński at the head) by making public self-correction of political views on the only acceptable over Potomac and Vistula.
I am pleased with that, and so I have an appeal – let us not let ourselves be told this reluctance, let us respond firmly to the proverbial wall behind the artists! I don't see why we should let a primitive propaganda female who's got hatred of nationality in a sphere as crucial as culture! So I encourage readers to take part in this year's concerts and share music by Goran Bregovic due to the fact that it is of all value.
