Iran publishes false footage of Israeli fighter shots utilizing shots from Arma 3 and another game

Since 13 June, the mediate East has been at war between Israel and Iran. After the judaic state carried out a series of effective attacks, the Ayatollah government began responding with rocket attacks. Computer games have become 1 of the propaganda tools in this conflict. The Iranian military utilized shots from the Arma 3 and the Russian War Thunder game to present fabricated shooting down Israeli aircraft. These recordings were extensively distributed on social media.

For the first time a video of the plane being shot down by Arma 3 was published by the news agency Tasnim, affiliated with the Iranian muslim Revolutionary defender Corps (IRGC). It is simply a military formation in Iran and the individual defender of the ultimate leader of the country. Later the video appeared on the Telegram and began to circulate in other social media.

The video allegedly showed the fighter being hit by anti-aircraft defence systems. Iran-related accounts provided a clip with comments like “we shot down an Israeli plane”. The posts besides frequently claimed that the pilot was taken prisoner. Israel's defence Force (IDF) officials had to officially disprove these reports.

The Israeli army added that all fighters active in the operation on that day “safely landed in the base”. Meanwhile, IRGC utilized another game — the Russian War Thunder for propaganda. Second clip allegedly shows "a minute of interception and demolition of an advanced Israeli F-35 fighter fighter by defence systems of the muslim Army of the Republic of Iran". In fact, this video was uploaded to YouTube 2 weeks earlier, before the war began.

Let us remind you that recordings with Arma 3 have already been utilized in armed conflicts. They were published by Russians at the beginning of a full-scale invasion of Ukraine, as well as during last year's conflict between Iran and Israel.
