During the first days of the war, thousands of Russians went out on the streets to protest the aggression against Ukraine. However, as time passed, the demonstrations declined until they completely disappeared. Fear became omnipresent, and society adapted to fresh realities. The guest emphasizes the courage of the fewer Russians, who, opposed to the war, inactive bear witness to their views – which, of course, involves risk.
A luxurious life with a view to war outside the window

However, he notices that although Russia has an atmosphere of fear, calling it a totalitarian state would be an exaggeration.
