- There's no point in trying to be innovative due to the fact that innovation is simply a risk. This is what money is usually lost – Mentzen said during a conversation with Morawiecki.
Today editor Kraśko was amazed by the words, due to the fact that Mentzen's presidential run was so innovative.
I think the word "innovation" should be put to bed due to its abuse.
Imagine that a company is developing laser diode technology, whose emissions are precisely in the wavelength needed to immobilize cesium atoms (doppler cooling). Another company uses these lasers to make atomic clocks measuring time to 10 to minus 18 seconds. Since time flows slower in the gravitational field, with specified 2 clocks you can measurement the gravitational field very precisely. We can detect metallic deposits, we can look for a golden train. With these atomic clocks, our GPS will be able to be 1 cm accurate. Is that innovation? IMHO, it is.
And now there's a chocolate company. The company has a wonderful thought that you can make a paper cat out of a chocolate box. Each box is somewhat different, so the kids are striving to gather as much collection as possible. The company doubles the sale of chocolates. Is that innovation? IMHO, it's not.
And as far as Mr M-M's conversation is concerned, neither did they rise the most crucial things about innovation.
They did not worry about the mediocre condition of discipline education.
They did not worry about the selection of strategical investigation directions (without any sense to finance 2000 projects of PLN 5 million erstwhile the task needed PLN 500 million).
They did not worry about European cooperation, as only a united Europe can compete with China.
They did not worry about ridiculously tiny investigation efforts in Orlen or KGHM.
If KO was smart, M-M would usage it to embarrass both gentlemen.
