The Russian Su-24MR aircraft breached the airspace over the territorial waters of Poland on Tuesday – the Operations Command stated. It happened at 2:09 p.m. over the east part of the Gulf of Gdańsk. The reason for the incidental was to be the failure of the Russian machine's navigation system.
According to the communication, the device that flew from the royal circuit “has violated Polish airspace at maximum depth 6.5 km and stayed in it by 1 min and 12 seconds‘.
"The aircraft's flight was observed by the radiolocation systems of the Armed Forces of Poland. The flight way was immediately changed after the intervention of the FR Force navigator. Polish on-call services supervising the airspace were in contact with the Russian side, which confirmed the breach of the Polish airspace and reported that it had occurred due to a failure of the Su-24MR aircraft's navigation system", was reported.
The Operations Command recalled that the cast of the Polish air defence strategy is conducting a 24-hour observation, remaining in constant readiness to guarantee Poland's safety.
