In pre-war times, there is no area for political experimentation, no place to bet on ignorance. Lech Kaczyński's words "Today Georgia, next day Ukraine, the day after next day of the Baltic States, and later possibly Poland" are becoming increasingly real.
When the borders burn, Russian ships roam the Baltic and NATO does not loosen the safety belt for a minute – Poland needs a president like never before: a certain, experienced, predictable. Not individual we don't really know who he truly is.And therefore, Karol Nawrocki CAN NOT be president of the Republic.
Who's Charles Nawrocki?
And that's the most crucial question. due to the fact that the answer is, you don't know. Until recently, no 1 has heard of him, and now he is to be head of state in a time erstwhile the seriousness of the situation feels like the odor of a storm in the air?
This man, who, as it turns out, has had crime episodes, not only sutner episodes, but besides relationships with stadium gangs and a past more consistent with Vega's films than with the president's office? Nawrocki was active in illegal fighting. As a grown man, not a rebellious teenager. For many Poles this is adequate reason to delete it. But for the power camp, he's a tough guy. Well, the hardness that ends with a nicotine sachet pressed under the tongue in front of the full Poland is simply a farce alternatively than a force. This account revolved around the world, which is shaken by his behavior.
Image built on boosters?
Disturbing are gestures – not only during the debate of presidential candidates – which rise associations with the usage of psychoactive substances. It doesn't substance what Nawrocki truly put under the tongue: whether it was rubber, sachet or something else. It is crucial that the president cannot be a man who cannot endure 40 minutes without this “something”. If he needs support for the debate today, what will he request next day in a situation of global crisis or war?
Authenticity vs. Acting
Following his campaign, it is hard to defy the impression that Nawrocki plays a function that he is just learning. Not long ago, he spoke like a man who didn't come from any political school. Now? all word of paper, all motion practiced. This is not the president – it is simply a marketing product. Does Poland, a country proud, experienced and brave, deserve a president who is simply a pawn in another people's hands? There is besides a fundamental question, where did he get millions for his election run erstwhile there is no authoritative political background behind him? If he were to become president, he would gotta retaliate, and that's a very dangerous thing.
On the another side is simply a proven competitor
This is Rafał Trzaskowski – a man who can not be liked can be disagreed with, but cannot be denied experience. Member, MEP, minister, president of the capital. He speaks languages, knows the scenes of planet politics, can go out to people – not only to his own electorate. It is recognized and respected internationally. And most importantly, it's checked.
Trzaskowski, although not perfect, doesn't gotta pretend to be anything. He has passed his way, knows the importance of the office and does not request instructions to usage Poland. And that means 1 thing: he won't learn us all along the way.
Poland cannot be a lonely island
On the eve of possible war, in fact, in which Poland is simply a possible target, we cannot afford mistakes. We request individual who doesn't gotta gain respect in NATO due to the fact that he already has one. individual who doesn't request prostheses to be strong due to the fact that he has strength in himself. individual who doesn't rise questions about what he pulled on the air and who he fought at the stadium 20 years ago, or prove that he wasn't a pimp.
Experiment? possibly in the lab, not in Belvedere.
Charles Nawrocki is an experiment. And 1 who hasn't undergone clinical trials. In a time of peace – possibly we could wave our hand. But today? present there is no place for gambling with the future of the Republic. We don't choose a hydrogen for a picnic. We choose a commander in a storm.
Let's not choice a figurehead in time to fight for our safety. The president must be a man who knows the weight of words and decisions – not individual who is just learning how to hold a pen.
