We share with you the results of our joint aid task for Ukraine, which we have implemented together since November 2022 thanks to the action of Ikano wellness Week conducted at Ikano Bank Polska and Ikano Group.
In 2022, the Ikano Group decided that backing under #ikanohealthweek will be transferred to Ukraine. We have received financial assistance, which was given primarily to acquisition medical equipment and medical vehicles.
Since August 2023, funds from the grant have besides been transferred to the aid needed on the Polish-Belarusian border, and for almost 2 years there has been a humanitarian crisis. We support volunteers operating under POPH – Podlaskie Volunteer Humanitarian Aid and the FREE NAM Foundation.
What did we buy?
For Ukraine these are:
- 2 vehicles with the essential medical infrastructure; Sanitary Ambulance Brigade and Opel Vivaro (both served for many months in the medical squad with Humanosh Med Evacuation, now they are in the hands of the avant-garde squad – Polish medics on the front.
- bus for the transport of persons (including children) in Ukraine and Poland (transport to hospitals, transport of children to Polish medical facilities for continuation of treatment)
- a passenger vehicle that was transferred to Ukraine to transport food, medicines, clothing etc. to civilians and soldiers
- Medical and rehabilitation equipment that went to hospitals in Mikołajew, Kharkiv, Dniepra, Krematorsk. These include defibrillators, sterilizers, surgical tools for otolaryngological operations
- heating furnaces (winter 2022/2023) which went mostly to civilians in the Kharkiv Oblast
- winter clothes for doctors and combatants
- special dressings and medicines
For volunteers with POPH – Podlaskie Volunteer Humanitarian Aid:
- ground vehicle
- electronic equipment to assist communication in hard conditions
- We besides provided financial support to volunteer activities
- food
About this aid and not only did we talk in the studio of the NNO with Dominika Birke and Aleksandra Zarębska from Ikano Bank Polska.
The number of people we have helped with the support of Ikano Bank Polska and the Ikano Group continues to grow. The vehicles and medical equipment we bought are inactive utilized to save lives and human health.
