Our totalitarian readiness
A common belief, it seems, that either push-back or let everyone in is false. Propaganda. In fact, it's almost precisely the opposite. I dedicate my reflection on this – without large hope – by standing a wall behind Tuski and so besides by a wall behind the Polish uniform. While there may be something scarier than tormenting innocent people to death, these are 2 things: the real scale of the problem allowing for all civilised solution and universal, social consent to the most extreme, dull in thoughtless cruelty of lawlessness.
Nothing but a barrier and push-backs make the border with Belarus look like a sieve. Let us turn off the basic values for a minute and look at this tragedy from the applicable effects. All people “turned and put to the border” (or to the swamps, however, must be added necessarily) – if only they last this nightmare and the accompanying torture – come back and effort again. In fact, they have no another choice. They're trying to do it. In any way. possibly besides to various degrees of force - we do not know this well, we have fewer confirmed data, but only quite a few PR screams. Whatever the ways, well over a 1000 of these people scope Germany all month, as we sometimes read in reports from there. They number on the "flag effect" in the face of threats that blow up on a vast scale, expanding social hysteria and causing conflicts.
Perhaps the affirmative effect of this policy would be to convince Putin with Lukashenko that on the "flag effect" this time not their favorites from the far right, but their declared enemies – but to number on this effect would be highly naive. At the same time, I apologize, the effect for us, Poles, is that our own country under our elected governments is becoming like Belarus. erstwhile announcing the creation of a “buffer zone”, the Tusk government has already done everything possible to show everyone that the current policy of writing lawlessness continues as to the letter. It is inactive based on the same Kamiński export regulation, which we have all talked about (politicians too, and it is huge) that it is highly inhuman lawlessness. The zone, on the another hand, wants to be introduced on the basis of the written fresh of the Border Protection Act, which everyone besides voted against – due to the fact that it is unconstitutional due to the fact that it tries to circumvent constitutional regulations on exceptional states, due to the fact that it is incompatible with global law and highly inhumane. On the Belarusian border there is no sea, but there are swamps and rivers – in them people drown, yes.
The reception centres, which carry out verifications of detainees crossing the border, receive papers from them and accept asylum applications from 70% of those who want to do so, even by considering them in shorter procedures and issuing, yes, besides the deportation decision, would cost little than that barrier (which ensures, among another things, impunity of the soldier's killer) and meet the request for border control. If we do not succeed, Frontex and the EU's relocation policy are at our disposal – the same 1 against which Prime Minister Tusk voted jointly with Prime Minister Orban.
So I accuse this government, our government—chosen by large social effort and endowed with incredible trust—the government in which we have put specified large hopes—I accuse him of cynically, with full premeditation, applying the cruelest lawlessness, that he is liable for the death of many innocent people and for the death of a late deceased soldier. I besides accuse him of lying and cynical propaganda, which in order to keep and extend political support strengthens social hysteria, hatred, divisions and yet racism and contempt for human life and dignity. I am besides accusing him that, contrary to his own statements, he is actually helping to accomplish the goal of Lukashenko and Putin, due to the fact that this "de-stabilization" of the countries affected by hybrid attacks is precisely this: chaos, lawlessness, hysteria and interior conflicts. Finally, I accuse him of the fact that the real threat will fall on us unprepared, divided and defenceless, due to the fact that nothing happens that the Polish border truly strengthens.
But it's not the end of this heavy mourning litany. The social background of this power, inactive giving her support and fiercely condemning the protesters reveals her own willingness to do evil—to service only "ours." The scale of this readiness is shocking. This is totalitarian readiness – whatever colour this totalitarianism has or will have.
I've seen this readiness for a long time. During the 5 minutes of my own “Molojecka fame” I rode Poland, gathering people. It is not a typical effort – they are people who for any reason attended meetings of Polish citizens. I gave out a fewer 1000 polls. I asked them about the values and demands most crucial to the then democratic movement. I got the answers “in God’s way”. Constitution, regulation of law, independency of courts, human rights, women's rights, and so on. little willing, but besides frequently indicated things specified as social policy or, on the another hand, economical freedom. A fewer further questions I asked in turn which of these demands they would be willing to give up, so that the Democrats would gain power and be able to keep it – giving in points the same things, somewhat different wording. I added my consent to the death penalty. Well, we'd agree to anything. In spite of the shadow of my own hope, there was no trace of a tendency to sacrifice matters of “less importance” from an axiological point of view – i.e. economical freedom or social welfare of the state. The death punishment was accepted as frequently as the withdrawal of economical freedom and social policy. Human rights, the regulation of law, etc. have equally been abandoned.
So I always knew how it was. But what else to know is what else to see so physically and in specified an utmost situation. possibly after the election, Tusk will ease the rhetoric. possibly the buffer region won't happen. But evil has already happened. Not only did we torture a crowd of innocent people to death, but we enthusiastically shouted out our own readiness for all evil. And tyranny, too. Just ours.
Poland has become a hostile country not only for the victims of the border, but besides for me. Her citizen. She's not the Homeland I love and I want to live in. I'm inactive wondering if he's the planet I want any connection to. Neither the commune nor the then oppressive widespread opportunism, nor the Law and Justice have late succeeded in causing this to me. It got to me now. There's a fewer more like me.
