The Republic is mostly inhabited by Russians and Chakasi, and there is besides the largest Polish diaspora in the Russian Federation, focused in the Cultural and National Social Organisation of the Republic of Chakasia. The majority of members of the association are young people (mean age 33), which is an issue among national organizations. The organization brings together forced descendants and voluntary settlers from the early 20th century who came to the confederate Siberian lands, unlike another parts of Siberia, where the exiles dominated. Therefore, Poles managed to preserve Polish and language better here, as illustrated by the dynamically developing Polish villages Namienka and Aleksandrówka, inhabited by Mazury.
Almost half of the Chakasia territory is occupied by forests, while a strong economy is based on hydroenergy, minerals mining (coal, iron ore, copper, molybdenum, gold and lead). Wood industry, the production of means of transport, aluminium and another colour metals are besides developed. Strong agriculture. For a republic of just over 600 000 inhabitants, its economical possible can be the foundation of stability.
History of Chakasia
In the distant past, the area of modern Chakasia was a place of intense trade with Arabs, Tibetans and Mongols. The Chakasia peoples developed under favourable climatic conditions, resulting in a unique cultural heritage, which is an invaluable historical resource. The basis for the cultural heritage of Chakasia is not only uncontaminated Siberian nature, but besides tens of thousands of archaeological sites. After all, the beginnings of human presence on these lands date back to 40-50 1000 years before our Common Era.
In the 4th – 3rd century before Christ there was a Dingling state here, as noted by Chinese historians. They were the predecessors of the Chakas, a Turkish-speaking Kyrgyz tribe. In the 9th century, an aggressive steppe empire arose here, which subjugated the Uyghurs and occupied the lands of the Tuvinites. The Kyrgyz provided their empire with a military and administrative elite until the 13th century, erstwhile Genghis-chan and his descendants broke down the structures in the puch and led their own regulation until the end of the 17th century, as Russian influences began to intensify. The Chakas were incorporated into the empire and Russia began as an exampleless in the past of the planet Drang nach osten colonization of their lands. Russian settlers took over the best agricultural lands and pastures. The authoritative accession of Chakasia to the Russian Empire dates back to 1727, erstwhile Russia concluded a border treaty with China, absorbing land north of the Saian Mountains, while lying south of them occupied China. The treaty was the beginning of long wars with the Chinese, which prompted the Chakas to approach Russia.
In the 20th century, from 1918 to 1923, a white defender was stationed here, which the Bolsheviks defeated. Since 1923, forms of Chakas' self-government have developed, underlining their autonomy. This was the consequence of the efforts of many Siberian nations to make their own organs of power, and like the Chakasi, Buriats, Tunguzi, Shorty, Altadians... However, not all have succeeded. In 1930, the Chakaski Autonomous Circuit was established, which in 1991 became the russian Socialist Republic, to adopt the current name of the Republic of Chakasia a year later. That year, a young republic signed a Federation Agreement with Russia.
In 1992, the republic adopted its own flag, in 2006 its coat of arms, and only in 2015 was the acceptance of the state anthem of the Republic of Chakasia, whose music was written by an outstanding Turkish composer German Tanbayev. The text was written in Russian by the leader of the Turkish elders Vladislav Torosov (1937 – 2018), while the lyrics translated the lyrics into the Basques by W. Shulbayev and G. Kazachinov. It took 8 years to make the anthem.
