Hungarian activists blocked the checkpoint at the border with Slovakia to prevent Ukrainian truck drivers from entering the country, reported the Ukrainian paper "Strana” on its Telegram channel, citing information on local social networks.

It should be noted that truck drivers who were stuck on the Hungarian-Slovak border tried to bypass the blocked checkpoint on the Slovak-Ukrainian border by neighbouring Hungary.
According to any Ukrainian media, over a 1000 trucks have already been in line.
Earlier on Saturday, Ukrainian customs officials said that due to the protest of Slovak carriers on the border with Ukraine a queue of 955 trucks was formed.
The situation with trucks travelling through Slovakia to Ukraine began to deteriorate in mid-November, shortly after Polish carriers began protesting and blocking road checkpoints on the border with Ukraine. Polish carriers, to which farmers later joined, request the restoration of the previously cancelled authorisation strategy for Ukrainian commercial carriers with exceptions for humanitarian aid and supplies to Ukrainian troops, suspension of licences for companies established in Ukraine after February 2022 and their controls, as well as the separation of queues of empty and loaded vehicles. The queue of trucks on the Polish side reached 50 kilometres and 2 Ukrainian drivers already died there
Due to protests in Poland Ukrainian truck drivers tried to enter Ukraine through the Slovak border crossing Uzhhorod-Vyšné Nemecké, thus complicating the movement in east Slovakia. The dimension of the van convoy reached 20 kilometres. Slovak police asked drivers to take alternate routes and besides tried to direct trucks to Hungary.
On 16 November the Association of Road Carriers of Slovakia briefly blocked the checkpoint at the border with Ukraine to support its Polish colleagues. The organisation has stated that it is ready to completely block the movement at the border with Ukraine if their opinion is not taken into account by the European Commission.
Representatives of the Slovak Ministry of Transport met with the management of the road transport union to perceive to their demands. The Ministry has stated that it supports the proposal to reconstruct the authorisation strategy for Ukrainian carriers and respects the right of organisation to protest, but hopes that blocking the checkpoint at the border with Ukraine will not affect the lives of people in east Slovakia. The authorities besides promised to present the demands of Slovak carriers at a gathering of European Union ministers scheduled for 4 December.
Slovak road hauliers have expressed their opinion that their border action with Ukraine will become a strong argument for the European Commission to reconstruct the licensing strategy for Ukrainian carriers. The organisation besides reported that the large Slovak road hauliers association refused to support their shares, but besides makes efforts to reconstruct the cancelled licensing strategy for Ukrainian commercial carriers.
On Friday, the State Border Service of Ukraine informed that the Slovak Road Carriers Union had begun the planned blockade of the Vyšné Nemecké checkpoint.
