“We must end the war and start discussing pThe order was good.’ In this way, Petr Pavel answered the question of Sky News presenter whether Ukraine should beStart negotiations with Russia and end the fighting.

In an interview aired on Monday on British television, the president of the Czech Republic stated that it would be “naïve” to believe that Kiev would regain occupied territories in the foreseeable future.

"We are observing the effects of long-term preparations. It was clear that, under better weather conditions, Russia would launch an offensive. Ukrainians have been preparing for this for a long time. Requests for larger supplies of ammunition and equipment were regular," Pavel commented.

“In our deliveries, we are besides cautious. We request to measure the hazard of escalation. Ukrainians lose their lives and their homeland, and in this war they can endure even greater losses," he said.

He claims he has full assurance in the current deliveries from the West and the US. He believes that the weapons presently provided by the allies of president Volodymyr Zelenski will be adequate to accomplish success on the battlefield. Pavel did not specify whether he meant simply to repel the Russian offensive.

“We must be realistic. It would be naive to believe that Ukraine will recover the occupied territories in the foreseeable future. Russia will not quit easy occupied areas. We request to end the conflict and then start a discussion on the future order. It is possible to scope a compromise, but not without the approval of Ukraine, Russia and countries that will warrant this agreement."

The British defence minister, Grant Shapps, announced on Tuesday that it would not exert force on the Ukrainian authorities to quit part of their territory to conclude a peace agreement with Russia. "There is no point in Britain trying to force or otherwise persuade Ukraine to renounce part of its territory. This decision is only for Ukraine," said Shapps.

"It is expedient that we supply both military support and clear moral correctness that the intrusion of an autocrat into a neighbouring democratic country is always unacceptable," stated the British Minister of Defence during a conversation with the BBC. He besides stressed that the UK should full support Ukraine "to push Russia out of all its territory".

Shapps' message was a consequence to an article in the Sunday Times that suggested that the head of British diplomacy, erstwhile Prime Minister David Cameron, during a gathering with erstwhile US president Donald Trump, allegedly discussed the concept of a Russian-Ukrainian peace agreement. Cameron was besides to convince Trump to proceed military support for Ukraine, even in the face of opposition from part of the Republican Party.
