Simon Holovnia gave an interview on Polsat News. He was asked, among another things, about the oath of Karol Nawrocki. He betrayed that he was repeatedly offered a coup.
During the interview, Speakers of the Sejm were asked about the issue of the presidential election results. For example, he spoke about various kinds of suggestions that fell towards him after Karol Nawrocki won. He said that “he was offered a coup.”
– I've been offered, suggested, asked if I'm ready to carry out a coup, due to the fact that that's what it comes down to. It was investigating what I would do," the Holovnia added.
– I'm talking about "the coup d'état" in terms of the situation in which the president was elected, and I'm saying I don't like this president, and I might not curse him up, I'll be president, due to the fact that that was the idea. Through the establishment of the National Assembly, we avoided the breakdown of the state – he pointed out.
Holovnia did not vote for Nawrocki
In the further part of his statement, the Holovnia assured that “the coup would not be done with him”. “I did not vote for Karol Nawrocki, he was not my candidate, but as talker of the Sejm I am obliged to respect the will of the majority of voters, to take my oath from the President, to guarantee continuity of the authority of the armed forces, the power in Poland and to talk with the President, with whom we have divergent views on very many matters.”
