In October there will be a proceeding of Simon Holownia on his statements concerning the “state coup”. The prosecution has been on this case since February this year.

Last month, the talker of the Sejm on Polsat News revealed that he had received suggestions to hold the swearing-in of Karol Nawrocki as president. At the time, he described it as a “state coup”.

– He did not like the result of the presidential election," said Holownia about the people who were to submit specified proposals to him. The Marshal then explained that he had applied this word in a political and not legal context.

Details of the investigation

D.A. Skiba said the Holovnia would be questioned in this case as a witness. "The request for a proceeding was yet attached to the case of the alleged coup," said the D.A.'s spokesman, while the investigation itself is intended to concern the suspicion of a crime of a change of the Polish strategy by advanced government officials.

The investigation was initiated by Michał Ostrowski, Deputy lawyer General, and was subsequently taken over by the Warsaw territory Attorney's Office. The announcement was given by Bogdan Święczkowski, president of the Constitutional Court, who accuses, among others, the Prime Minister and Speakers of the Sejm and the legislature of acting in an organized criminal group.
