The Dutch Patriots will stay longer in Jasionka

Not until June, but most likely by the beginning of December, Dutch soldiers with 2 systems of air and rocket defence Patriot will stay in Poland. The NATO contingent guards the logistics center in Jasionka, from where military equipment from the West reaches Ukraine.

"Patriot is an crucial but besides uncommon anti-aircraft system. By extending our mission, we answer the request of NATO and Poland. This decision underlines our support for Ukraine and indicates that the Netherlands is always ready to aid erstwhile allies call on us" – she explained in a letter to the Dutch Parliament Dilan Yeşilgöz-Zegerius, the local national defence minister.

The quota from the Netherlands appeared in Poland last December. It consists of 300 soldiers who have 2 Patriot air defence and rocket defence systems at their disposal, drone combat kits, and NASAMS anti-aircraft system. According to an earlier agreement, their mission was to end in June. But that is not going to happen. Under another decision, only half the soldiers and equipment will return to the country. 150 troops will stay on site with the Patriots. Their mission will end in early December at the latest.

The Dutch are part of the NATO safety Assistance and Training for Ukraine. They defender the safety of the logistics center, which is located at the airport in Jasionka close Rzeszów. This is where the military equipment handed over to Ukraine by Western European countries goes. From Jasionka it is moved east.
