Historical triumph in the United Nations General Assembly vote – no sexual orientation and sex identity evidence removed

On Wednesday 17 December this year, for the first time in history, the UN General Assembly voted to remove the wording from the UN Resolution: sexual orientation and sex identity. The amendment to remove the controversial wording was proposed by Egypt on behalf of the 57 States of the Organisation for muslim Cooperation (WI) and enjoyed broad support in Asia and Africa. Argentina, Bolivia, El Salvador, Guatemala and Paraguay besides supported this amendment. The European Union powerfully opposed it.
