At first I only knew that on 11 May 1946 in a forest close Black Białystok individual murdered 44-year-old Serafina Kiluk and her two-year-old sister Veronica Świerbut. The 3rd victim of the crime was 25-year-old Henry Kiluk. However, her execution was noted 2 weeks earlier, after being dragged from the church.
I realized that the date of their death was most likely linked to the activity of the post-war anti-communist partisan, whose past in the present war. To this day, it is neither clear nor flattering, and the cursed soldiers arouse much controversy. I was intrigued by the fact that 3 women died. 2 of the same name as their age suggested that parent and daughter.

Forest Road Orphanage-Wolf Jam
I took the challenge to find this grave, the exact location of the murder, and above all the reasons why they lost their lives at a mature and young age.
Who were they?
In search of an unknown grave, I set out on Friday morning. I knew she was standing in the woods and surrounded by a decorative metallic fence. I knew I was to search for the interior sand road from the Osierodek colony to the Wilcza Jama forest settlement. I followed this lead and national road 19 towards Sokółka.
After a tour in the area of the acidica colony on a beaten road, I met Peter, a man from the area of this village, for an eye of 50. Dressed grey in working trousers and sweatpants from FC Barcelona cut out overgrown bushes in a roadside ditch.
— Good morning.
— What happened? — I could barely hear in the stifling wind.

Surroundings of the Colony Acidic
— I am looking for specified a grave — I showed him this only picture.
— Kiluk's name is local, Świerbut, I didn't hear — I assumed it was 1946. I understand, I'm interested, but who were they? Bandits or guerrillas?
— I have no idea, I'm just trying to figure that out. I fishy they're guerrillas.
- There were no AKs here. But there were bandits. They were Boy Battalions, but they were all pro-Soviet, I heard.
Peter has never seen this grave, though he knows all the roads around here from a kid. I gave him the location. With his finger, he showed me the buildings on the hill where you gotta go. He looked at the image again and was amazed that the murdered were women due to the fact that he had never heard of specified murders, men were. He sent me back to the church archives, calculated close churches, and found that it was not known from which Henry could be taken.

Military patrol close Osierodek village
— And you know I'd ride with you.
- You drive, I follow you.
— I am very curious in this due to the fact that I am a terrible anti-communist, but besides an antipisor — after exchanging our worldviews, he added that leftists are his enemies too. “I will lead you to a forest home in Osierodek, ” Peter was in those parts possibly 30 years ago. Now he's on vacation, he's back in Germany next week.
Woodpecker
We've reached the Osierodek colony. A fewer houses with agricultural machinery in the process. We stopped behind the buildings in front of the forest to talk. Before we went on our way, we were passed by a military truck with a platform that abruptly came out of the woods. Peter already lit another cigarette.

Forest in the area of a forest village in Osierodek, Black Białostocka
We've entered a somewhat rough deciduous forest. It was yellow and warm everywhere. The maple leaves fell tightly on the litter and formed a circumstantial moist scrub. We drove a changing terrain through the hills and bends. We were passed by the point logging trees, along the road arranged gigantic logs of spruces, cut down years ago due to the fact that they were already grey.
We reached the forest home with a shallow gorge. A forester or grove, as Peter utilized to call him, would surely know where the grave is. We bypassed the buildings, but no 1 was there. I walked into the abandoned porch and looked through the window inside. The interior looked like individual got up and left for a fewer days. Even glasses of under-drinking tea stood on the table. The home didn't look abandoned forever. There was no cell telephone scope either.

Orphans 11, Black Whitestock
A forest road with a ban on cars began behind the forest house. We checked the map where to go. “ Here are the wolves, yet they will attack,” Peter tried to drive me distant from the thought of walking. He offered to take a chance and drive in a car, and as a native, he'll drive me down the road due to the fact that he knows people here, in case of trouble.
A twelve meters from the brown shawl of the building was a fork in the roads. Right to Germany, left to Wolf Jama. Peter at all turn, even on the arch of the road, turned on the direction indicator.

A fork in the woods. Left Wolf Jama, right German
For six km, we drove through the forest towards Wolf Jama. On the road, I saw a sign hidden in branches that told me that we were driving into a unchangeable of animals and prohibited further entry. At times the road would harden and grow as if it were being prepared to pour asphalt. With the stronger breezes of the trees and the bow, the curtains of yellow leaves fell, which diverted my attention from the side of the road, where I was nervously searching for the graves.
Wolf Jama
On our way out of the forest, we saw a closed gate to the habitat. On her left side a grey wooden cross with a carved crucifix grew. Under the roof of the shingle, the inscription “Wolf Jama” with a sculpture of a bare female and 2 wolves between words. Locked in deaf. There was the first uncertainty and fear that we missed the grave. Peter called the parent who was in the hospital.

Habitat in Wolf Jamie
- Mom, tell me, do you remember the tomb by going from the Orphanage from the forester to Wolf Jama? Where is it? — Then he switched to speakerphone. - What do you mean Black?
— erstwhile you went from us to Osierodek to Black, it was the main road.
— This is about the grave of 3 murdered women,” he explained.
— I don't remember that, just that they called it a grave, but it's right under Black, the guest from us. Yes, behind the alder forest, behind the meadow, his parent explained to him.

The road from the Orphanage Forestery to Wilcza Jama
Peter explained to her that 1 of the women had been moved from the church. That's what his parent didn't hear. The names didn't tell her anything either. Then he let go and went out with her later. Mogiłka close Black Białostocka turned out to be a place of memory of a completely different person, just entering the password into the search engine.
Then a retired couple from next door passed by. I besides showed them a image of the women commemorated.
I know where it is. Probably...," said the driver.
— I've never heard of women before. I heard about the men who were murdered, but that women?

White Cross, landmark for local residents
- Kiluk? It was most likely from the Healthy, but a man pushed in. - You must go to the forest home and right to the white cross.
Peter asked. - And here I am, white cross.
— It's besides far. Look between the white cross and the forester. About 500 m must be driven distant and the grave will be on the right side — I asked if he had heard anything about the story, but the man behind the wheel wouldn’t say anything, and the questioner would get even more twisted. “If you want to learn more, study to the wellness Resorts, due to the fact that there are respective families there.
We turned around. Peter followed me.

Those who live by warning
Since the fork in the roads by the forest house, we have entered a rough forest area fenced with wire mesh. Trees cut to pieces. Between the bitten stumps, young plantings of coniferous trees were breaking out, shyly creaking into dense cloudy sun rays. We went uphill on a curved road. Finally, on the hill on the right side of the road, I saw a black cross with a board and a border. He was clearly visible. All the trees around here not so long ago destroyed the saws. I got here before noon after more than 2 hours of wandering in the woods.

The dead as a memorial to those who live to caution
— This is set a twelve years ago. I utilized to drive that way, it was a pomegranate gravel pit, and now it's holes. My father was a farmer, but there was a sawman. Vacation and winter breakPeter was amazed to read the names of the murdered women again, exclaiming the loud wind.
Again, he wondered if they were guerrillas, whether they had made a mess of themselves, due to the fact that for no reason did they kill, and all the more reason they did not extract women from the churches.

Found the grave of murdered women
— You found them, good — Peter lit another cigarette. “ From what my father told me, there were no real guerrillas here but any prosovian groups,” he reflects and approaches closer to the grave.
Her surroundings looked beautiful apocalyptic. This “the way of setting up the forest” by creating a log in the light of the sun is fading down, and it is raining with horror. In any places, thick trunks were exposed to beheaded trees. In the surrounding scuttled autumn colors, faded, looked like burnt bones under the dark sky. The same view was on the another side of the road. but there was a barrier cut off.

The forest around the cross was cut about 2 years ago.
The cement square base of the grave grew light green, swollen moss with stuck dried needles. In 1 corner, a cherry bush took over. Otherwise, the cartridge turned into a burrow with a pressed faded bouquet of artificial flowers. At the core of the cross stood broken glass candles with burnt means. Then Peter remembered that he had 1 contribution in the trunk. It didn't match any glass cover. From pieces of broken chain in form of heart, we made a veil from the wind.
We talked for a while, Peter told me about an old castle in the area and a organization colonel with a young wife, a limousine and a driver from the 1930s, smoked another cigarette, coughed up and escorted me to the village of Zdrje through Germany. On the route, we passed an indicative white cross at the crossroads.
Health. The village of horror
We parted in a fork in the village, where the paved road led. In the last census 2 years ago, 114 people declared surviving here. any of them are passers-bys who bought out extinct homes here. In the air, I felt an intense odor of manure. At the renovated building, where erstwhile there was a firehouse with a garage for the O.R. car and a agrarian store I met a contractor with a blooded eyeball. He wasn't from here, and he sent me home on the other side.
— It was from our village that these women were killed. It's a memorial grave, like they were tied to these trees and set on fire. 1 of them's granddaughter Barbara lives in Black Białystok. The older ones were sisters, the younger ones being the daughter — the housekeeper Beata invited me in. She made coffee and offered home-made cake she prepared to visit her household on the occasion of the reunion for November 1. We sat in the kitchen by the old tile oven. but for her, no 1 was home before 1:00.

Health. 3 women besides lived here
— I didn't know there was a grave in the woods. My father-in-law told me that story. I.P.N. About this full partisan thing, he did interviews with us, and these ladies were in the partisan, and that's why they died. Here were “suns”* and average guerrillas. The 1 they pulled out of the church, they thought she was active with the bad guerrillas. She was Kazimierz Kiluk's older sister. He saw them leave their parent and aunt there, then lost his speech for a while, due to the fact that he witnessed the full tragedy — Beata learned this communicative from her father-in-law's story, which was interrogated by the IPN for at least 20 years. Beata suggested that Kazimierz Kiluk had died in fresh years.
“Henry was accused of collaborating with the enemy. I don't know if that was the case, but my father-in-law always said, "You shouldn't have gone down, they'd be alive now." possibly as a young, cheerful girl, it was hard for me to say, she added that there was a very large partisan in the surrounding area.
I spent an hr at her place. She sent me to the end of the village, to a multigenerational home of a native village called Natala. Others who might remember something have already died.
Nobody knows where Henia is.
To Natalia's home on the left edge of the village, I reached respective minutes. A fewer cars in the yard, a tractor with a trailer, rocking cows in a squat under the world, and laundry dried on a string between trees. I knocked on the door on both sides of the house. Empty and quiet. erstwhile I was about to leave, in the rear-view mirror, I saw Natalia's husband moving out of the yard with a blue, rigid plastic tube. He led me to my wife. Then a young female in an advanced pregnancy told her grandma that she had to go to the field due to the fact that something with a heifer was going on. Natala just threw distant that she would give me the address and telephone of the granddaughter of the murdered Seraphina. She turned on the orthopaedic bullet and disappeared. My granddaughter gave me an address to search online.

wellness in search of Natalia
I caught up with Natala in front of the barn on the property across the street. An 80-year-old girl was leaning on a bullet.
— The full household was murdered there. The Hanka organization murdered. Did they shoot? No 1 knows, they moved and smoked from the church, and everything was there, parent of God. This brother did not even know, and to this day no 1 knows where her grave was — then we reached a resistant heifer who did not want to be transported to another barn for anything.
— It was terrible due to the fact that the parent was murdered and Kazio saw them take her and her aunt distant until the speech took him away, he was 18 years old, walking through the woods, killing them there, must have a gun. It was a tragedy. They took their aunt and parent from the forest to the cemetery, and where Henia, no 1 knows. Then Kazio wanted to give money to find a sister, and Natalia confirmed the information.

Modern church in Bombli
She besides showed the church from which the torturers pulled Henry Kiluk a week after Easter. It was an old wooden temple in Bombli. The first mass was celebrated here on 2 February 1946, even before the fresh parish was re-arranged by a bishop's decree. In 1990 a brick modernist church stood in his place. There are 2 cemeteries in the parish, old in a tree by the church, second behind the village. I was 17 km to the Black Bialystok again.
The neighbors were murdered.
Barbara was clearly amazed by my visit and my questions. I found her at work. At first, she was reluctant, withdrawn, and suspicious, and refused to discuss the communicative of her ancestors.
— I'm not gonna dig into this... it was a guerrilla and neighbors who murdered them — Barbara decided to uncover what she knew. “My father saw it and knew more or little who did it. No 1 was liable for this — she did not effort to investigate. — It was a partisan and they killed their people — she couldn’t stand it. “They did not cooperate with anyone, they were attractive girls who were left alone.

Commemorative grave of 3 women murdered in the woods close Black Białostocka
Her grandma Seraphina's husband died young from a bomb. Veronica, Grandma's sister was unmarried and she just arrived from France. Basi is hard to talk about these events. He says Father Kazimierz was intimidated by his neighbors to keep him quiet. He didn't talk in trauma for 3 months. Her father was taken in by a household from the same village.
— They tried to kill him, too. My father always explained that this guerrilla wanted to play with these girls. They did not quit — Barbara besides does not know where Henry was killed and what happened to her body. Kazimierz besides told her that after a fewer weeks Albin, who took him in, helped transport the body of Seraphina and Veronica from the forest. They tried earlier, but women's prison sites were guarded by aggressors, and whoever was approached by a firearm series. They were normal, good people from the village. erstwhile the substance went quiet, they took the bodies and buried them in Bombla — Basia besides quoted his father's words that his sister Henryka had been taken during mass. The priest extended the service as much as he could. “ They took her out, and she was missing.
The granddaughter of Seraphina showed me the old black and white photographs of young Henry, posing in the open window of the household home. I heard she sang very nicely.
— At home, it was a very delicate subject, my father was very upset, he was losing his voice and he could not talk about it, due to the fact that they were people from the vicinity who were in the guerrillas and were ready to kill their neighbors as something was incorrect with them — she quoted the words of Father Kazimierz and 1 of the stories erstwhile her neighbor's daughter married the boy of 1 of the perpetrators of the crime on her cousins. They were common thugs. What do you call a man surviving in 1 village who threatened and killed? His daughter-in-law later boasted that she had quite a few sewing machines, quite a few femurs, and where did she get them? It was looted from honest people. They had guns, and erstwhile individual talked back, they came out, and the series was played in the tiles. It was a bunch. They drank, lived well, plundered and held power. So Kaziu wouldn't hide erstwhile they drove into the yard, he'd end up like a woman. He was alone, like a finger — Barbara mentioned the names of respective members of the gang. After the crimes on women they suffered no consequences and continued to live in the village of Zdrój.

She could have killed women in 1946.
Casimir, boy of Seraphina, was interviewed by IPN employees over 20 years ago. He wouldn't talk to them due to the fact that he was afraid of the revenge of people active in the crime on his household who were inactive alive. “ Your father heard specified words: We had fun with your sister before she died, ” we both kept quiet. — They were defenseless women, and on the another hand, they were scum, alcohol, dating, good life, and looting — almost spit out.
The cross in the woods close Osierodek 20 years ago was built by Seraphina Kiluk's son. 4 years ago, Barbara fixed a memorial board with the names of the women murdered. The forest was cut 2 years ago.

That's a mild word for pseudo-partisans. In the areas where the Orthodox population lived, they were besides referred to as “cossites”. From the stories and accounts of the older inhabitants of this land, it is known that the “suns” were called and called to this day those who robbed and had nothing to do with the partisan fighting the occupier. The name is derived from fat (or goat) due to the fact that under duress, bandits and looters took it distant from farmers.

A commemorative plaque 4 years ago was installed by Seraphina's granddaughter
These are people who, under the cover of the night, were able to violently enter the home and no substance what, without scruples to take money and the equipment of the home and farm. frequently there was a neighbour or a friend from the village who knew erstwhile and who had just been killed or something valuable. Strangers came into the home for the host, and those he could admit left outside.
It was these fake guerrillas that people feared most due to the fact that they were ruthless. erstwhile they were recognized, the injured host was afraid to mention it to anyone due to the fact that the complaint meant the death of him and his loved ones. It happened that half the village knew about the bandit from the neighborhood, but nobody dared publically point him out. "Sunners" had deals with militia and felt impunityless until the political "wet". Then most of the torturers left for another parts of Poland. In the past of Poland, the word “moisturism” is defined in 1953–1957, i.e. after the death of Józef Stalin.
