Court before the TEU on WIBOR. No breakthrough?

A proceeding will take place in Luxembourg on 11 June 2025 before the Court of Justice of the European Union (TEU) in Case C-471/24. This is the consequence of the questions referred by the territory Court in Czestochowa concerning the explanation of Union law in the context of loans based on the WIBOR benchmark. The first case in the TEU on WIBOR raises a clear interest in borrowers, lawyers and the banking sector. However, it is worth distinguishing the real scope of the substance from media simplifications. The upcoming trial will not be resolved.
