For many years, Greece has wanted to modernise its land troops, seeking opportunities on the marketplace to gain full and compliant combat fields for infantry wagons, which would replace part of the immense fleet of M113 armoured transporters and increasingly many (and partially [provided Ukraine](https://defence24.pl/war-on-Ukraine-report-special-defence24/greece-rail-bmp-1-ukrainie)) BMP-1Ost. The second in the service are most likely 110-130 (but possibly even little due to further donations to Kiev) causing the only ones presently gathering the requirements of the conflict field in the Greek bwp army to be ex-German Marders 1A3 (received under the Ringtausch procedure).
