Armourment, humanitarian and social aid, PESELS for Ukrainians, accommodation, seeking Ukrainian affairs internationally... The list of methods of supporting Ukraine by the Polish state during the war with Russia is very long. Nevertheless, Ukrainian authorities have increasingly observed a boot, cynicism, a claim attitude, or even hostility, alternatively of gratitude. Now Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine says that Poland inspires the crisis in the agricultural sector.
According to the correspondent for ‘European Truth’, during the conference ‘How Ukraine’s road to the EU’, Deputy Prime Minister for European and Euro-Atlantic integration Olga Stefaniszin stated that Ukraine powerfully demands that the EU abolish unilateral restrictions on Ukrainian exports and believes that Brussels should scope an agreement with Poland.
– We know that the European Commission does not intend to extend restrictions after they expire on 15 September. Yes, there are intentions to unilaterally impose restrictions on respective countries, but this would be a violation of the fundamental principles of the European Union. And we hope there's a way – said Deputy Prime Minister. – This crisis is inspired by respective EU countries, the main 1 being Poland. But Poland tripled its European budget to support its sectors. Ukraine has not received any additional funds said Olga Stefaniszyna.
Let us remind you that on 12.06.2023 the European Commission spokesperson, Mariam Garcia Ferrer, informed that the Commission had not approved a support package of EUR 100 million for 5 alleged front-end countries, including 40 million for Poland, for losses caused by excessive imports of cereals from Ukraine. The adoption of the package was to block the head of the KE, Ursula von der Leyen, who accuses Poland that this 1 hinders the transit of Ukrainian goods through its territory. On the another hand, Deputy Minister of Economy of Ukraine Taras Kaczka stated at the conference of the global Grains Council in London that subsidies to Polish farmers “are going far beyond what is permitted by the rules of the planet Trade Organisation”.
