Roman Giertych, at a press conference on Wednesday 18 June, announced that he would request that the gathering of the National Assembly be postponed from 6 August to an equal period later. As he explained, it would give the ultimate Court more time to measure the validity of the presidential election.
– Then the talker of the Sejm will be acting as president so that the ultimate Court can gather (...) and answer the question whether we should accept the oath of Mr Nawrocki, whether we should recalculate the votes, whether there is simply a basis for the annulment of the elections, he said.
Member of the Civic Coalition argued that specified a solution was justified in the context of reports of possible irregularities during the elections.
Simon Holovnia answers Roman Giertych's proposal
This proposal was addressed by the talker of the Sejm Simon Holovnia, who described Giertych as "a creative lawyer". With large distance, he besides assessed the possible course of events if the script of Giertych were to enter into force.
– And then it would have happened if Roman Gierty were inactive deciding that due to the fact that I realize that sometimes he wants to decide for the National Assembly and many another institutions of the state for the next election, which you know what will end up with? Karol Nawrocki won them in I round, 70 percent, due to the fact that the social emotion, which will say "you've got it together at the election", cannot be stopped," said Holownia.
He besides stressed that Giertych's thought had no chance of being implemented, as it would not find support for the majority in the National Assembly. In conclusion, Szymon Hołownia added: "I speak, with all my sympathy for Roman Gierty, but he can tweet, and I am liable for you.
He besides noted that he remains "positively critical" of Roman Gierty's proposal.
