Germany has no illusions about Russia. "Peace in Ukraine seems unattainable"

The head of the German MON Boris Pistorius said on Friday that "taking into account Russia's ongoing aggression, peace in Ukraine seems unattainable in the close future". Germany will proceed to aid Ukraine.


– Ukraine must receive military assistance from the West in order to be able to counter Moscow's attack. The fast area is not visible at the minute – said German defence minister Boris Pistorius at the Ukrainian defence Contact Group gathering on Friday. – Peace in Ukraine seems to be unavailable in the close future – it has fallen.

Pistorius besides announced plans to supply Ukraine with further joint military support from the West: "We will guarantee that Ukraine will proceed to benefit from our joint military support.

Strong words of the head of the MON peace in Ukraine


The head of EU diplomacy Kaja Kallas, on the another hand, informed that in 2025 European states had already allocated over EUR 23 billion to military support for Ukraine.

Germany has decided to increase its military support this year by another EUR 3 billion, which means that the full amount of their military aid is presently EUR 7 billion. Since the beginning of the war, Germany's full authoritative support for Ukraine has exceeded EUR 43 billion, of which EUR 15 billion has been allocated for military purposes.

According to the Kilonian Institute data, in February Europe overtook the United States in terms of assistance to Ukraine, European states allocated a full of EUR 70 billion for financial and humanitarian aid and EUR 62 billion for military support. For comparison, the US provided Ukraine with EUR 64 billion in military aid and EUR 50 billion in financial and humanitarian support.

Meanwhile, Vladimir Putin will meet with Trump's peculiar envoy, Steve Witkoff, on Friday, as Dimitri Pieskov reported. He added that the gathering would last "as long as president Putins needed". “Putin and Witkoff will talk about regulating the situation in Ukraine, this is simply a good chance to give Trump the position of Russia”, said Putin’s spokesman.

"Another gathering in Ramstein format is held in Brussels today. Our precedence is air defence – it is highly crucial that our partners hear us" – the president of Ukraine wrote on Friday.



"Ukrainians can act precisely. We've already learned to shoot down a large condition of Russian panic missiles. Now all we gotta do is fill the gaps in air defence systems to defend our sky even more effectively," added Volodymyr Zelenski.

"Our partners can aid – and accelerate the implementation of erstwhile arrangements. Patriot systems, which stay unused in warehouses, should service to save human life" - he stressed.
