The issue of reparation from the point of view of the national government is simply a closed matter. The good news is that we have a future together – said the head of the German Ministry Annalena Baerbock.

On Monday, Polish abroad Minister Zbigniew Rau signed a diplomatic note on war reparations from the national Republic of Germany. Now the paper will be forwarded to Germany.

Germany does not change its view on reparation

Warsaw's activities in this respect were commented on by the head of the German diplomacy Annalena Baerbock, visiting Poland. The politician, at a press conference with the head of the Polish Ministry of abroad Affairs, repeated the previously presented position of the German government, rejecting Warsaw's demands.

– I know that many people in your country and representatives of the media are very curious in the subject of reparation, so I will take a look at it," said the head of the German Ministry of abroad Affairs, addressing Raua. – Yesterday we saw on tv that there is simply a letter on the way to Berlin and it is better that present we could talk about it in person. You already know the German national Government's attitude on this issue," Baerbock added.

– Germany feels a historical responsibility, without any restrictions. Our eternal task is to remind about the suffering of millions which Germany has brutally caused Poland – she explained.

– This memory must be passed on to young people in Germany," Baerbock added, admitting that German society frequently does not remember the degree of the harm that Germany did to Poland during planet War II.

“The question of reparation from the point of view of the national government, you know, is simply a closed issue,” she stressed at the same time the politician, addressing the head of the Polish MFA. “The good news is that we have a future together with our European Union,” she added.
