General Sergei Surowikin, erstwhile commander of the Russian Air Force and a group of invasive troops in Ukraine, was released from custody a fewer days after the tragic death of Wagner Evgeny Prigozhyn's mercenary leader, who died in an air crash on 23 August - revealed the American paper "New York Times".
