Traditionally on the occasion of the National independency Day, the leaders of the armed forces will present general promotions. This time 11 officers will be nominated for the highest military rank. The ceremony will take place on Tuesday, 11 November at the Marshal Józef Piłsudski Square.
The National safety Bureau reported on Saturday that president Karol Nawrocki, as requested by the National Defence Minister Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz, decided to advance 10 officers to general rank and 1 to Admiral.

Brig-Gen Artur Kuptel, Head of Armed Forces Agency
Brig-Gen Michał Sprengel, Councilor-Coordinator at the Office of the Minister of National Defence

The ceremony, during which the officers will receive promotions, will be held on National independency Day in Marshal Pilsudski Square. But they won't be the only nominations that will take place that day. Then, at the request of the Minister of interior Affairs and Administration, Inspector Artur Bednarek, Chief of the Provincial Police in Krakow, will be appointed to the rank of Brigadier General of the Border defender - Colonel SG Daniel Wojtaszkiewicz, Chief of Warmia-Masurian Border defender Division, and to the rank of superbrigadier of the State Fire defender - elder Brigadier Jacek Niewęgłowski, Pomeranian Provincial Commander of the State Fire Guard.
These are the second general promotions decided by president Karol Nawrocki. Previous nominations were presented in August, for the celebration of the Polish Army. At that time, 8 officers were given the general buzzings and the acts of appointment to the highest military ranks.
How many generals service in the Polish Army?
Currently in the Polish Army, 151 officers have the highest military ranks – general or admiral. 104 serves as Brigadier General or Rear Admiral, 33 as Major General or Vice Admiral, and 12 officers as Lieutenant General or Admiral.
The highest military rank – general – is held by General Wiesław Kukuła, Head of the General Staff of the Polish Army, and General Sławomir Wojciechowski, Polish military typical at the NATO and EU Military Committees.
