“Gazeta Wyborcza” has launched a fresh installment of the social action “How you ride, Poland” which aims to improve safety on Polish roads. On May 22, another edition of the run was launched to rise awareness of driving culture, regulations and traffic rules – both among drivers, pedestrians and another traffic participants.
Joint action is not only to reduce accidents but besides to advance liable road behaviour that affects the safety of all users of urban space and beyond. After the success of the action of 2024, “Gazeta Wyborcza”, including local editorial offices, re-engages readers, looking at real traffic problems in different cities and regions.
Driving licence is not only a privilege, but besides an work to follow the rules. Although regulations are tightened up, the social commitment and education of drivers are inactive crucial. The action “How you ride, Poland” supports these activities through a wide information campaign, which besides takes into account the problems and challenges characteristic of individual cities and regions.
– Fighting bravado, insolence, foolishness on the roads is difficult, but very necessary. Almost all day we describe dramatic accidents that could be avoided if drivers, pedestrians or scooter users followed the rules –Says Paula Skalnicka, head of local editorial “Gazeta Wyborcza”.– On the another hand, we besides request well-designed rules and effective enforcement. Our goal is to bring about a change in both areas, hence the request to proceed the action “How you ride, Poland”.
By the end of September, the editors of “Gazeta Wyborcza”, “High Obcasy Extra” and services of Wyborcza.pl, Wyborcza.biz and Wysobocasy.pl will print materials on road safety, including analysis of the situation in various parts of the country.
In addition, podcasts will be created, in which editors/editors and experts will discuss the key challenges of liable driving and the effectiveness of safety-enhancing activities – both at national and local level.
