The service is in the heart of the Masonry, and the Orsett Lodge and the local charity “Get Started Art” have late joined forces to capture the essence of the service, providing assistance to thousands of children in Ukraine.
A crucial effort of fundraising led by a free-murderer from Essex Steve Bryuel (Loża Orsett) and Get Started Art resulted in the transportation of 10,000 books for arteterapies and over 1,000 coloring kits for schools and groups of children in Irpin and Buczy.
The books, which were designed by another mason from Essex Dave Barton (Get Started Art) in the colors of the Ukrainian flag and translated, were delivered to schools throughout the region by Ensign Bus directors. It is part of their logistics support initiative to supply assistance and relief to the war-torn country.
According to the UN Human Rights Bureau Monitoring Mission in Ukraine, at least 487 children have been killed since the beginning of the war and 954 have been injured.
More than 5,000 children in Buczy and Irpin are presently learning in rebuilt schools, including Irpin School, which was destroyed in 70%, and whose reconstruction was funded by the European Union. Currently, this school is full operational and provides 1,700 students, including children of internally displaced persons, full-time education.
Rūt's kindergarten will be another beneficiary of Masonic aid, after the heavy damaged was reborn after Russian aggression. The conflict of Irpień was part of Kiev's offensive during the Russian invasion of Ukraine in 2022 to take control of the city of Irpień.
