The General Staff of the French Armed Forces present informed on platform X about joint reconnaissance flights with Belgium and Poland. He stressed that 1 of the objectives of this action was to contribute to freedom of air and sea traffic and to respect global law.
The French staff reported that flights were carried out “in a region of tension where many air routes cross.” He stressed that 1 of the mission's objectives was besides to highlight, through coordinated actions of allies, the presence of the North Atlantic Alliance of a defensive and dissuasive nature.
The General Staff of the French Armed Forces noted that there was air refuelling and information exchange between fighters from 3 states along with aircraft of aerial and maritime reconnaissance and the tanking aircraft.
This is "common action for collective maritime safety" in areas adjacent to the European continent and NATO," added the French staff.
