Former and current heads of 1 of the Kiev municipal companies are suspected of embezzlement of 153 million hryvians (about $3.7 million) at the construction of the Podolsk Bridge over Dnieprem, reported the safety Service of Ukraine.
"The defendants embezzled at least 153 million hryvnia (about $3.7 million – ed.) which were destined to build a bridge in Podolsk on the Dnieprem. As established in the investigation, the organization of the ‘schemat’ was active and was the managers of 1 of the municipal enterprises in the territory of the state administration of the city of Kiev,” a communication published on the SBU website
According to the agency, between 2018 and 2019 the suspects overestimated the cost of building materials, almost 6 times “overpaid” for mass deliveries of grids to strengthen bridge crossing pillars.
‘They were and the current heads of the municipal company and their partner – already erstwhile executive manager – are suspected of the article ‘share in misappropriation or abuse of the property’ ... Offenders are facing up to 12 years of imprisonment," added SBU.
SBU didn't give any suspects.
