The Ukrainian Anti-corruption Prosecutor's Office has announced nand your telegram channel, that she stopped a group headed by erstwhile advisor to Wolodymyr Zelenski's law firm, suspects of embezzlement of nearly 95 million hryvnia (almost $2.5 million) erstwhile purchasing transformers.
"An organized group led by a erstwhile advisor to the president of Ukraine... whose activity led to a embezzlement of 94.8 million hryvnia to acquisition transformers during the martial law was revealed. The investigation showed that the organised group was set up in 2021 to control the funds of Ukrainian railways," stated the Supervisory Department's Communication.

According to his information, the head of the group from June to December 2022, via controlled Ukrainian Railway officials, "provided the selection of a pre-defined company as a power transformer supplier". Deliveries were made at overpriced costs. "It was established that transformers themselves were purchased through a company that was part of the property of legal persons from the Russian Federation and resold to the Ukrainian railways at twice the price", the prosecutor noted.
The agency added that the boss, co-organiser and 2 members of the group were detained. A criminal case was initiated under the article "abuse, misappropriation of property by misuse of a work office". His conviction provides for imprisonment of up to 3 years.
The agency did not give the name of the erstwhile advisor to Zelenski's office. A MP for the Ukrainian parliament Alexey Honcharenko wrote on his Telegram channel that it was Artem Shylo. According to open sources, he worked for SBU since 2012, from where he was released in 2021. Then for a year he was an advisor at Zelenski's office.
Before that, Zelenski dismissed many advisors and assistants, including Sergei Bossir, manager and founder of the Kvartal-95 studio. The "Reduction" besides included Oleg Ustenko, Sergei Trofimov, Mikhail Raducki, and a consultant, "Presidentary Commissioner for the Protection of the Rights of Defenders of Ukraine", Alena Werbicka and "Presidential Commissioner for Volunteer Activities" Natalia Pushaw, was fired. The press secretary of Zelenski Serhij Nikiforov said that the shuffling in Zelenski's office was dictated by the “optimization” of staff.
