First Iranian aircraft carrier in service

On February 6, a ceremony was held in the roadstead of the Iranian port of Bandar-e Abbas, located on the Strait of Hormuz, to officially commission a ship with a continuous flight deck, euphemistically called an aircraft carrier, into the naval forces of the muslim Revolutionary defender Corps (Sepāh-e Pāsdārān-e Enqelâb-e Eslâmī.
