Hamas's attack on Israel has sparked a war, the cruelty of which has shocked the public of countries around the world. At the same time, Israel's fight against Hamas in the Gaza Strip led to a fast increase in global tensions in the mediate East. How did the fighting take place today? What is behind the Israeli-Palestinian conflict? What consequences can the present war have for the mediate East and the world?

Since the start of the war between Israel and the muslim terrorist organization Hamas (Muslim Resistance), the planet has been shaken by images of the suffering of Israeli and Palestinian civilians. planet media took pictures of the massacres of residents of settlements in the south of Israel, which were attacked in the first days of the war by Hamas militants. More than 1,400 people died in Israel, and nearly 250 were taken into the network of tunnels extending under the Gaza Strip. In the following weeks, Israel took the initiative in the field of combat by campaigning for air raids on the cities of Gaza and sending 27 October land forces to the northern part of the Zone. As a consequence of the actions of the Israeli armed forces thousands of Palestinian civilians inhabiting the area were killed and reports of hundreds more killed and wounded coming from there all day. The city of Gaza was surrounded by Israeli troops on November 2. The tightened blockade of the Gaza Strip led to a humanitarian disaster for its residents, and UN calls for increased access to supply transports were mostly ignored.

Causes of attack

There are many opinions on why Hamas attacked Israel. Hamas may have wanted to fill himself as the sole typical of the Palestinian case, especially in the face of corruption and weakness of the Palestinian Authority. Others claim that the decision to attack could have been taken in Iran, whose hostile authorities recognise Hamas, alongside, for example, the Lebanese Hezbollah (Party of God) or the Yemeni Huti movement, for part of its opposition Axis against American Hegemony in the mediate East and against the "Zionist regime", as described in their Israeli messages. In our part of the world, the function of Russia is frequently highlighted, for which a crucial US and media conflict is beneficial, as it reduces the interest of the world's public in Russia's attack on Ukraine. Today, it is impossible to find which of these views is closer to the truth.

Decades of conflict

In the late 19th century, in consequence to a wave of pogroms in the Russian Empire, a judaic political movement called Zionism was born in the diaspora. Its main premise was the request for the world-dispersed Jews of Palestine, in the ancient homeland of their ancestors, the Israelites. At that time Palestine was 1 of many mediate east lands forming part of the Ottoman Empire. The vast majority of its inhabitants were Muslim and Christian Arabs. After planet War I, Palestine became, contrary to earlier promises of independency for the mediate East Arabs, a British mandate territory in which in accordance with the so-called. The 1917 Balfour Declaration was to make a “Jewish National Headquarters”. British politics combined with economical force from judaic settlers led to the discovery of Palestinian nationalism, whose supporters considered Zionist aspirations to be a threat to arabian Palestinians, who for hundreds of years recognized it as their home. Throughout the interwar period the tension between the Arabs and Jews surviving in Palestine grew, until in 1936 the arabian general strike turned into the uprising of Palestinian Arabs against the British. It continued until 1939, and the recently formed judaic militias were active in its suppression, with Hagana (Defense) at the head. The defeat of the uprising permanently changed the arrangement of forces in Palestine in favour of better organized and armed judaic troops.

World War II and the German Reich, its allies and collaborators committed the Holocaust crime on European Jews had a strong influence on the Zionist movement, while compromising supporters of judaic assimilation in the diaspora. In the Mandate of Palestine cultural force and terrorism against the British administration grew. The most utmost supporters of Zionism began in 1944 a guerrilla conflict with forces of large Britain. In 1947, the Palestine Mandate plunged into the Jewish-Arab civilian War, which was won by judaic troops, while carrying out the action of expulsions of hundreds of thousands of arabian residents from their controlled territories. In May 1948, Britain withdrew from Palestine, Zionist leaders declared Israel independency as the homeland of the Jews, and neighboring arabian states invaded the young state. Israel defeated the arabian states in 1948. As a consequence of the war, Israel assumed most of the territory of the Palestine Mandate, the West Bank became part of Jordan and the Gaza Strip became a subsidiary of Egypt. This changed in 1967 erstwhile Israel attacked the neighboring arabian countries, causing them a devastating disaster and occupying the West Bank and Gaza.

Not only Israel and Palestine

Thus, the current Palestinian territories were under the business of Israel and a fresh movement was born among the Palestinians, the Palestine Liberation Organization, which sought to liberate Palestine and destruct Israel through terrorism. The Israeli-Palestinian conflict spread to neighbouring countries, including the civilian war-torn Lebanon, and the Palestinian guerrilla turned out to be a hard opponent for Israel's army. From 1987 to 1993, the Palestinian territories continued with I Intifada, a mass uprising against Israeli occupation. Finally, in 1993, Israeli-Palestinian agreements were signed in Oslo, where Israel and the Palestine Liberation Organization recognized each other. Under these agreements, the Palestinian Authority ruled to this day by the OWP was besides established.

Unfortunately, in subsequent years the peace process collapsed due to the execution of Israeli Prime Minister Icchak Rabin in 1995 by a judaic ultranationalist opposed to peace. It yet ended with the power supporting the judaic settlement in the West Bank of Prime Minister Binjamin Netanyahu in 1996 and the outbreak of II Intifada in 2000. At that time, expanding support among Palestinians was gained by Hamas, who never recognized Israel's right to exist. In June 2007, Hamas made a coup in the Palestinian-controlled Gaza Strip and created an authoritarian government there, which to this day devotes most of its energy to preparations for the fight against Israel.

The war in Gaza is simply a threat to the stableness of the mediate East and attracts the attention of the powers. Iran and its allies search to gradually ambush and destruct Israel, while the US support Israel while at the same time wanting the excessive force of Israeli armed forces not to origin the US's diplomatic relations with Muslim states to deteriorate. For Russia, the mediate east crisis is beneficial due to the fact that it distracts the planet from the war in Ukraine. China calls for ceasefire and maintains close relations with Iran. The global public is becoming increasingly hostile to Israel's actions in the Gaza Strip, which is simply a problem not only for Israel but besides for the United States. At the time of writing this article, there is no promise of a fast end to war or truce. On the another hand, much indicates that Israel's war with Hamas could extend to the full region, which would be a disaster for its people and for the safety of the full world.
