Fergana Agency: Russian-Tajic military exercises have begun

The Russian Ministry of Defence reported on the launch of joint anti-terrorism exercises of the Russian Armed Forces and Tajikistan on the mountain-empty “Charb-Maidon” camp in the Chatlon Oblast.

According to authoritative reports, the beginning ceremony was held in an elevated atmosphere. The soldiers of both countries set themselves up on the appeal square, military orchestras played the anthems of Russia and Tajikistan, and national flags were drawn onto the mast. The active exercise phase will last from 7 to 11 April. Their main nonsubjective is to strengthen cooperation between the armies of both countries and increase their readiness to act in the face of modern threats.

During the exercises, military contingents from both countries will practice the demolition of terrorist gangs, prepare individuals for mountain activities and conduct joint operations to destruct illegal armed groups. peculiar attention will be paid to securing the state border and neutralising gangs that have crossed borders. The Russian quota represents units of the 201st military base of the Central Military District, comprising mountain units, motorized, armored, artillery and reconnaissance units. The activities affect crews of Mi-24 assault helicopters and Mi-8MTV5-1 transport and combat helicopters, communications specialists, FPV drone operators and reconnaissance drones as well as mobile electronic combat groups.

On the day of the inauguration of military exercises, there was no information about the exercises on the website of the Ministry of Defence of Tajikistan.
