Fergana Agency: Putin and Mirzijoev discussed strategical partnership

W Moscow held a gathering of the Presidents of Russia and Uzbekistan. Vladimir Putin and Szawkat Mirzijoev discussed the issues of strengthening a comprehensive strategical partnership and alliance.

The Heads of State stressed the request to implement the agreements reached during Putin's visit to Uzbekistan last May. The Parties besides stressed the importance of taking coordinated action to keep the momentum of trade, economical and investment cooperation. The Presidents paid peculiar attention to projects in precedence sectors of the economy and to stimulating regional cooperation. A fruitful exchange has been noted between the Russian Federation and Uzbekistan, in peculiar in the fields of culture, art, discipline and education. In addition, Putin and Mirzijoev discussed global matters, but no details of the conversation were given.

The Kremlin Press Office besides did not supply detailed information about these talks, simply announcing that the gathering was held in an extended format. The Russian side was represented, among others, by first Deputy Prime Minister Denis Manturov, Deputy Head of the Administration of president Maksim Orieszkin and head of the Central Bank Elwir Nabiullin. From Uzbekistan – Advisor to president Aziz Magroupov, Deputy Prime Minister Zamszid Chojayeva, Head of Central Bank Timur Iszmetov and another officials.

At the invitation of Putin, Szawkat Mirzijoev took part in celebrations devoted to the 80th anniversary of the ZSRS triumph in the Second planet War. The president of Uzbekistan, along with the leaders of another states, including all post-Soviet Central Asian republics, watched a military parade in Red Square in Moscow. Notabene among the marchers were besides Uzbek Armed Forces troops. At the end of the parade, the president of Uzbekistan laid flowers on the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier in the Alexandrov Garden. This monument, as Mirzijoev's press office writes, was erected in memory of millions of soldiers, including the sons of Uzbekistan, who showed unprecedented courage and gave their lives in the name of victory. The monument is simply a symbol of valor, heroism and selfless action of the defenders of the homeland. The celebration ended with a minute of silence and a march of honorary company and military orchestra. On 10 May, Szawkat Mirzijoev, after a working visit to Russia, returnedTo Tashkent.
