"Russia has experience of being an aggressor, so first we request to see that aggression has truly stopped and that clear action has been taken for a permanent ceasefire," she said in a message to PAP.

The spokeswoman stressed that the EU inactive supports Ukraine in its work for a long, just and comprehensive peace.

Russia continues its attacks

About an hr in advance, Putin announced an Easter truce on Saturday in the war with Ukraine, which he said would last for 30 hours — from 17 a.m. Polish time to 23 a.m. on Sunday to Monday. The Russian Ministry of Defence reported that the truce order had already been handed over to all the commanders of troops fighting Ukraine.

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenski responded to Russia's proposal — stated that if the Easter truce became a fact, Ukraine proposes not only to last until Sunday but to be extended.

The head of the Ukrainian government's Anti-Disinformation Center Andrij Kujelenko reported that Russian forces proceed to attack Ukrainian positions despite the announcement of a truce.
