Europe wants American weapons, but "ITAR-free". Poland goes precisely the other way

France is building its own fighter and wants to sale it abroad. It is sufficient, however, that the device will contain a part covered by American ITAR regulations, and Washington's consent may be needed to carry out the transaction. This is just 1 example of restrictions that Europe is increasingly seeking to free itself from, reducing the dependence of its arms manufacture on the US. So he arrives with "ITAR-free" weapons designed without American components, which could later restrict the freedom of the maker and the user. Meanwhile, Poland is doing something completely opposite. By purchasing Abrams, HIMARS and F-35, we are increasingly tying our army to the United States. And unlike many partners in the EU, this increasing dependency clearly does not bother us.
