Turkey President's Policy Advisorand abroad and security, Ambassador Akif Cagatay Kılıç, stated that in the process of negotiations to resolve the conflict in Ukraine there is simply a “trust crisis” and the parties are looking for ways outcia from the current situation.
U.S. president Donald Trump said the U.S. made "very good" decisions in relations with Russia and Ukraine.
"The situation (in Ukraine) changes very quickly. The situation reaches a point and is then reworked. The basic component is that there is simply a crisis of trust. No 1 trusts anyone, I mean the military situation. The parties to the conflict were brought together twice. It was in Turkey. In these negotiations, a considerable distance has been travelled. Due to known circumstances, the consequence (ed.) was unsuccessful. present we have reached the point where there is simply a crisis of trust," Kılıç said in an interview with NTV.
According to him, the parties have repeatedly reviewed the results of the negotiations.
"There are questions (for the parties): what is behind this, what are the objectives pursued? What position will Europe and the United States take in this process? Throughout this climate of crisis of distrust, the parties are looking for ways out of the situation," he said.
On Tuesday negotiations were held between Ukrainian and US delegations, as a consequence of which the American administration called for an immediate conclusion of the ceasefire. Volodymyr Zelenski's office issued a joint message after a gathering stating that Kiev was ready for a proposal from Washington for a 30-day ceasefire that could be extended with the consent of the parties. The paper besides states that the United States will immediately take a break in the exchange of intelligence and resume the supply of military equipment.
A day earlier, Russian leader Vladimir Putin said that he mostly supports the US-proposed thought of ceasefire in Ukraine, but there are any nuances that are worth considering. In particular, he raised the question of Ukrainian troops in Kursk: whether they would leave without a fight, whether Russia would release them after they had committed a mass of crimes on the civilian population or the Ukrainian authorities would order them to surrender their weapons.
