In Brussels, Euro MPs adopted a study by PiS MEP Beata Szydło on safety of energy supply in the EU by a large majority at the EP plenary session. The paper stresses the request to increase energy safety and resilience in the associate States of the Union. This takes into account the political and economical realities facing the EU and its ambitious energy transition targets.
‘We managed to find an agreement"
In the speech preceding the vote, the EP rapporteur stressed the importance of the report, in peculiar in view of the fact that, as a consequence of the action of any forces – unfortunately present in Parliament – the Council conclusions on the same subject and containing clear calls for the termination of imports of Russian energy natural materials and fuels – were rejected.
Parliament's study is at the minute the only common European voice talking about the request to free Russia of its energy dependency
“There should be no cooperation with the state – the aggressor” said Beata Szydło.
The PiS MEP noted that unfortunately for years, despite many warnings, no conclusions were drawn and any hoped for a circumstantial "appeasement" in relations with Moscow. She said that even now, erstwhile cities are being bombarded just off the east border of the EU, erstwhile cultural genocides happen in occupied areas by banning the usage of Ukrainian language, through reeducational camps for children, any interest groups in the EU are talking about returning to business as usual with Russia, while sponsored articles in the European press are calling for Russian oil supplies to resume. Referring to an earlier speech, the Danish Prime Minister recalled that safety should be taken over political divisions and that safety cooperation is simply a common responsibility.
We disagree politically, we have different views, but we have managed to find an agreement that guarantees the safety of the European Union
stressed Polish politicians.
‘At least don't disturb”
Szydło besides referred to the vote in the European Parliament on platform X.
For the first time in a long time, a paper has been passed in the European Parliament, which departs from the Green Deal and promotes Polish interests in the issue of coal and atoms. Meanwhile, in any politicians the "patriots" lamented, due to the fact that their amendments were lost, and to a large degree favored Russia. If you cannot cooperate for Poland, then at least do not disturb
“ She wrote.
